Welcome to GiGi Money! These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to your use of the GiGi Money application and all related services. By using the app, you agree to these Terms.
1. Definitions
- "App": The GiGi Money mobile application and web application
- "Service": All functionality and services that GiGi Money offers
- "User": Any person who uses the App or creates an account
- "GiGi": Our AI-powered financial coach
- "Premium": Paid subscription options with extended functionality
- "We/Us/Our": GiGi Money and its administrators
2. Account Terms
2.1 Registration
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
- You must provide a valid email address
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential
- One person may only have one account (unless explicitly allowed for Couples Mode)
2.2 Account Security
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. Please contact us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access.
3. The Service
3.1 What GiGi Money Offers
GiGi Money is a personal financial coach app that helps you with:
- Understanding your income and expenses
- Budgeting and saving
- Setting and achieving financial goals
- AI-powered coaching and tips via GiGi
- FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) planning
3.2 Not Financial Advice
⚠️ Important disclaimer: GiGi Money provides educational and informational content, but is NOT a substitute for professional financial advice. We are:
- Not a registered financial advisor (no FSMA license in Belgium, no AFM license in the Netherlands)
- Not a tax advisor or accountant
- Not a debt advisor or legal advisor
For important financial decisions, we recommend consulting a qualified professional registered with a financial regulator.
3.3 AI Functionality
GiGi is an AI assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude technology. While we strive to provide accurate information:
- GiGi may make errors or provide outdated information
- GiGi's suggestions are not personalized financial advice
- You remain responsible for your financial decisions
- GiGi is an AI and not a human — all interactions are generated by artificial intelligence
AI Transparency (EU AI Act, Art. 50): GiGi uses large language model technology from Anthropic (Claude). Your conversations are processed through the Anthropic API to generate responses. Anthropic does not use your conversations to train their models. See our

4. Subscriptions and Payments
4.1 Free and Premium
GiGi Money offers a free basic version and various Premium subscription options:

Prices include VAT. Prices may change with prior notice.
4.2 Free Trial Period
- New users may receive a free 7-day trial period
- You will only be charged after the trial period ends
- You can cancel at any time during the trial period without costs
4.3 Payment and Billing
- Payments are processed by Stripe, a secure payment provider
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled
- Upon renewal, the amount will be automatically charged
- You will receive an invoice by email for each payment
4.4 Cancellation
- You can cancel your subscription at any time through the app or Stripe portal
- After cancellation, you retain access to Premium until the end of your paid period
- Already paid amounts will not be refunded, unless required by law
4.5 Refunds
Due to the digital nature of our service, we generally do not offer refunds. Exceptions may be made in case of technical issues on our end. Please contact us if you experience problems.
4.6 Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumer Rights)
In accordance with the European Consumer Rights Directive, as a consumer you have the right to withdraw from a subscription purchase within 14 days without providing any reason.
Note: By starting the free trial period and actively using the premium services, you agree that the service begins immediately. You retain your right of withdrawal until you have actively used the service. Please contact us at

5. Couples Mode
With a Couples subscription:
- Two users can share their finances
- The paying user is responsible for the subscription
- The coupled partner also receives Premium access
- Upon cancellation, both partners lose Premium access
6. Permitted Use
6.1 You May Use the App to:
- Manage your personal finances
- Set and track financial goals
- Ask GiGi for help and tips
- Export data for personal use
6.2 You May NOT:
- Use the App for illegal activities
- Provide false or misleading information
- Reverse-engineer or hack the App
- Use automated systems to access the App
- Share your account with others (except in Couples Mode)
- Create content that is offensive, harmful, or illegal
- Use the App to harass others
7. Intellectual Property
- The App, including design, code, and content, is owned by GiGi Money
- The GiGi Money logo and brand are protected
- You receive a limited, non-exclusive license to use the App
- You retain ownership of the data you input
8. Privacy
We value your privacy highly. Our complete Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your data.
8a. Your Rights Under GDPR
As a user of GiGi Money, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access and Copy: You can request which data we process about you
- Correction: You can request correction of inaccurate data
- Deletion: You can request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
- Restriction: You can restrict the processing of your data
- Portability: You can request your data in machine-readable format
- Objection: You can object to processing based on legitimate interest
- Automated Decision-Making: You have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing with legal consequences

8b. Push Notifications and Email Communication
8b.1 Push Notifications
GiGi Money may send you push notifications, such as reminders for your weekly check-in, alerts about your savings goals, or motivational tips from GiGi.
- Push notifications are only sent after your explicit consent
- You can enable or disable push notifications at any time in the app settings
- You choose your preferred time and day for reminders
- We do not send push notifications for third-party advertising
- Disabling push notifications does not affect the app's functionality
8b.2 Email Communication
GiGi Money sends the following types of emails:
- Transactional emails (required with active account): Payment confirmations, invoices, account changes, security notifications, and legally required communications
- Service emails: Important service updates, changes to Terms or Privacy Policy, and maintenance notifications
- Optional emails (only with your consent): Newsletters, financial tips, product recommendations, and promotional messages
You can unsubscribe from optional emails at any time via the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email or through your account settings. Transactional emails cannot be disabled while you have an active account.
9. Availability and Updates
- We aim for 99.9% availability, but cannot guarantee this
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance where possible
- We may update the App and change functionality
- For major changes, Premium users will be notified
10. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is". We are not liable for:
- Financial losses from decisions based on the App
- Inaccuracies in calculations or suggestions
- Service interruptions or data loss
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our maximum liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months.
11. Indemnification
You indemnify GiGi Money against claims, losses, and costs (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your breach of these Terms
- Your violation of third-party rights
12. Termination
12.1 By You
You can delete your account at any time through the app settings or by contacting us.
12.2 By Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- You breach these Terms
- You misuse the App
- Payment cannot be processed (after reasonable attempts)
- This is required by law
13. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms. For important changes:
- We will notify you at least 30 days in advance
- You will have the opportunity to cancel if you disagree
- Continued use is considered acceptance
14. Applicable Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by Belgian law. Disputes will preferably be resolved informally first.
14.1 Online Dispute Resolution
In accordance with EU Regulation 524/2013, we inform you that the European Commission provides an online dispute resolution (ODR) platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
14.2 Out-of-Court Dispute Resolution
If you have a complaint that has not been resolved to your satisfaction, you can contact:
14.3 Competent Court
If out-of-court resolution fails, disputes will be submitted to the competent courts in Belgium. This does not affect consumers' statutory rights.
15. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
16. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and GiGi Money.
